The process used was a follows:
A new polygon feature class was created name MAJOR_SPRINGSHEDS. Its spatial reference and fields were imported from the line shapefile. This feature and the line shapefile were added to an Arcmap project. All the line features within the shapefile were selected. An editng session was started for the MAJOR_SPRINGSHEDS. The construct features tool was used to construct polygons in the MAJOR_SPRINGSHEDS feature class using the selected lines from the shapefile.
