However, the boundaries have been extensively revised using project area knowledge, and in some cases, information from local governments and consultants regarding stormwater drainage. Delineation of boundaries is the responsibility of the Engineering Division.

Date of last update: December 2008.
<purpose>The Water Resources Geodatabase (WRGDB) was created to integrate water-related spatial information on a 1:24,000 scale, in a relational manner that supports hydrologic analysis and modeling efforts.

The District uses this information for general mapping and cartographic purposes, and for small and medium scale hydrologic and assessment applications.</purpose><supplinf>Users should be aware that these QuadBasin boundaries include water area as well as land area. Some SJRWMD QuadBasins are dominated by very large waterbodies, such as the Indian River Lagoon, and the surface area of water far outweighs the surface area of land in that QuadBasin.

A report documenting an earlier version of this data layer (with maps and tables) is available through the SJRWMD Library (SunCom-860.4132, Phone-904.329.4132): Surface Water Drainage Basin Boundaries, St. Johns River Water Management District: A Reference Guide. Technical Publication SJ97-1.

UPDATES, RELATED DATA LAYERS, and RELATED APPLICATIONS:
1. In September 2000, the predecessor to the layer was used as the basis for deriving the Mitigation Regulatory Boundaries, which have been incorporated into the Florida Administrative Code. Significant QuadBasin revisions need to be coordinated with the Water Resources Department, Division of Environmental Resource Management, in case the derived Mitigation Regulatory Boundaries need to be revised as well. The contact is Michelle Reiber (as of December 2005).

2. The District maintains an Oracle Spatial layer which is used to populate items in the station header table when stations are created or revised. When the QuadBasins layer is revised, the Oracle Spatial layer should be updated.

3. Related data layers:
Planning Units are aggregations of QuadBasins.
Major Basins are aggregations of Planning Units.

4. The District's Nexrad IMS application uses a copy of the Major Basins intersected with Nexrad pixels. When Major Basins are revised, this derived layer also needs to be updated.

5. This layer was used as a base reference in the development of the statewide Hydrologic Unit Boundaries NRCS layer (first completed in December 2005). Any significant revisions should be submitted to Jean-Paul Calixte, NRCS Gainesville, with revisions clearly identified.</supplinf></descript><citation><citeinfo><origin>St. Johns River Water Management District.</origin><pubdate>January 8, 2009</pubdate><title>SJRWMD Water Resources Geodatabase - QuadBasins</title><ftname Sync="TRUE">2009_Jesup_NonContributing_Basins</ftname><geoform Sync="TRUE">vector digital data</geoform><onlink Sync="TRUE">\\palfile\sjrx\ES\MSJRB\_all\requests\Marcy_Policastro\2009_Jesup_NonContributing_Basins.shp</onlink><pubinfo><pubplace>Palatka, Florida</pubplace><publish>St. Johns River Water Management District</publish></pubinfo></citeinfo></citation><timeperd><current>publication date</current><timeinfo><sngdate><caldate>REQUIRED: The year (and optionally month, or month and day) for which the data set corresponds to the ground.</caldate></sngdate></timeinfo></timeperd><status><progress>Complete</progress><update>Irregular</update></status><spdom><bounding><westbc Sync="TRUE">-81.388027</westbc><eastbc Sync="TRUE">-81.245942</eastbc><northbc Sync="TRUE">28.771348</northbc><southbc Sync="TRUE">28.539073</southbc></bounding><lboundng><leftbc Sync="TRUE">462123.070000</leftbc><rightbc Sync="TRUE">475939.770000</rightbc><bottombc Sync="TRUE">3156981.700000</bottombc><topbc Sync="TRUE">3182678.230000</topbc></lboundng></spdom><keywords><theme><themekt>SJRWMD-GIS Metadata Thesaurus</themekt><themekey>Arc Hydro</themekey><themekey>Water</themekey><themekey>Catchments</themekey><themekey>Drainage basins</themekey><themekey>Hydrography</themekey><themekey>inland Waters</themekey></theme><place><placekey>Florida</placekey><placekey>St. Johns River Water Management District</placekey><placekey>Alachua County</placekey><placekey>Baker County</placekey><placekey>Bradford County</placekey><placekey>Brevard County</placekey><placekey>Clay County</placekey><placekey>Duval County</placekey><placekey>Flagler County</placekey><placekey>Indian River County</placekey><placekey>Lake County</placekey><placekey>Marion County</placekey><placekey>Nassau County</placekey><placekey>Okeechobee County</placekey><placekey>Orange County</placekey><placekey>Osceola County</placekey><placekey>Polk County</placekey><placekey>Putnam County</placekey><placekey>Seminole County</placekey><placekey>St. Johns County</placekey><placekey>Volusia County</placekey><placekt>SJRWMD-GIS Metadata Thesaurus</placekt></place></keywords><accconst>None</accconst><useconst>The St. Johns River Water Management District prepares and uses information for its own purposes and this information may not be suitable for other purposes.
