So next month we inaugurate the new orange river site? Kirby From: Davis, Sara C. Hey, Kirby. I think for BMAP purposes, it might be helpful to start at the new location once the new reporting period starts (12/1/16). That will just make it easier to note on any water quality analysis graphs we may present. If Kevin O. thinks there would be a better time, then I’m open to that. Since we will be treating it as the same station in the BMAP monitoring network, it’s not critical to change the location at any specific time. Sara C. Hi Sara, After discussing changing the Caloosahatchee BMAP sample location on the Orange River with Mary and Kevin and receiving no opposition we will be moving our Orange River sample station. Please advise on when it would be acceptable to begin sampling at the new location. Subject: RE: Changing location of Orange River BMP sample site? Kevin, As far as I know they discontinued flow measurement as of April 2013. By moving the station we will no longer have to use a boat just to sample the one location so it will save a good chunk of field time. Thanks, Kirby From: ODonnell, Kevin Sent: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 12:08 PM To: Wolfe, Kirby Subject: RE: Changing location of Orange River BMP sample site? Kirby, I don’t see any problem with it. The only concern is that it was convenient to have the USGS station 02293055 located at the same place. The USGS is monitoring discharge from this place, but that may have been discontinued. Hi Kevin, We have been in discussion with Sara Davis about the possibility of moving our Orange River BMP sample site downstream. The attached photo has the current and proposed location. Mary did not see any problem as far as BMP is concerned but suggested I run it by you to see if it would impact any TMDL’s or other projects. Thanks, Kirby From: Wolfe, Kirby Sent: Monday, October 03, 2016 3:03 PM To: Davis, Sara C. Subject: Changing location of Orange River BMP sample site? Hi Sara, When we had the Caloosahatchee River phone call in August I mentioned that we were wondering about the possibility of moving a BMAP sampling location on the Orange River. We were wondering about moving from station: CALUSA0023FTM to station: CALUSA0054FTM. The attached map shows their location. The new site would be approximately 900m downstream from the current sample location a little over 1,000 meters upstream from the outflow of the FPL plant. Do you think this would be acceptable? Please let me know if you need any more information.
