Willy: see attached (this was done during the initial request in 2009; what we really need is excavator work to clear lines primarily at the Columbia County Side of Big Shoals and not necessarily boundary surveying. We can’t do the clearing with our equipment. We have been resolving several issues at Stephen Foster and I think we have a pretty good handle on the boundary within the park. Just need some ground truthing to be done just north of the administrative office. Its mainly Big Shoals that needs the work.

Please let me know as soon as you can if you have any high priority needs for survey of boundaries.

If you do make sure you provide as much as possible in the way of:

A good map

ID geographical features such as roads that may help find the boundary

Include Section Township and Range information for maps or descriptions

Within optimum boundary?

Why high priority?

Examples attached but make sure you include Sec, Twp and Rge info

Lew need it by next Tuesday so gauge response time accordingly.

Lady and Gents –

Very sorry for the shortness of this. Survey and Mapping called yesterday to say that money has been earmarked for land management survey needs. They would like our highest priority needs on Tuesday next week so they can start estimating costs to see what can be funded this go-around.

Don’t know if you know that Penny Rolleston is retiring as of February first, and has been on leave since before Christmas. I am on point for many of her responsibilities, for now. I spoke with her today, and she said that we have completed all the survey projects that she had on her list, save the November request from District 2 request for a survey related to the Withlacoochee Trail and Fort Cooper S.P.

Please give me your list of most critical surveying needs. Penny tells me that what we need to provide DSL is a map showing the location as clearly as possible, and the Section/Township/Range where the survey would be located. A short description of each need would be helpful too, I’m sure.

Again, sorry for the short notice. Please give me a call if any additional information or assistance is needed. If mapping assistance is needed, please let us know.
