This report documents the findings of the Year 1 cooperative agreement between the Minerals Management Service of the U.S. Department of Interior (MMS) and the Florida Geological Survey (FGS). The goal of that agreement is to facilitate characterizing the beach nourishment potential of sands found in Federal waters off the northeast coast of Florida. The study area includes Federal waters from three to approximately ten miles offshore of Nassau, Duval, St. John’s, Flagler, and Volusia counties and may ultimately include the northern half of Brevard County. This report details work accomplished to date off Nassau and Duval Counties.
