This report documents the findings of Year Three of the cooperative agreement between the Minerals Management Service of the U.S. Department of Interior (MMS) and the Florida Geological Survey (FGS). The goal of that agreement is to facilitate characterizing the beach nourishment potential of sands found in federal waters off the northeast coast of Florida. The study area includes federal waters from three to approximately ten miles offshore of Nassau, Duval, St. John’s, Flagler, and Volusia counties and may ultimately include the northern half of Brevard County. This report details work accomplished to date offshore of Nassau, Duval, St. Johns and Flager Counties. Analysis of sediment samples collected in Nassau, Duval and St. Johns counties, which was reported in the Years One and Two reports, has not been duplicated in this report.
