Part I - Site Information

Part I is asking for general information about the project site. All required documents must be submitted on 8.5" x 11" (letter size) paper.

A. Provide a map(s) of the project area and vicinity delineating USDA/SCS soil types.

• USDA/NRCS soil maps for the project can be obtained at the NRCS Web Soil Survey (WSS) web site.  Instructions are included on the web site's home page.
• GIS mapping applications may also be used if available to you, your engineer or agent.

Note: SCS soil maps are now called NRCS soil maps.

B. Provide recent aerials, legible for photo interpretation with a scale of 1" = 400 ft, or more detailed, with project boundaries delineated on the aerial.

Recent aerial photos may be obtained in a few different ways.

1. You can obtain them from your county property appraiser's website mapping application. See the list of property appraiser's web sites for Florida Counties.
2. You can use a GIS mapping application or engineering software if available to you, your engineer or agent.
3. See the help document titled "How to get an Aerial Photograph" to learn how to use the Department's mapping application, Map Direct to get aerial photographs for your project.

C. Identify the seasonal high water (freshwater) the elevation to which the ground and surface water can be expected to rise due to a normal wet season. or mean high tide (tidal waterbodies) is the average of all high tides occurring over 19 years. elevation Land level as compared to sea level using a known vertical datum. Example: an elevation of 4 feet is 4 feet above sea level. and normal pool or mean low tide (tidal waterbodies) is the average of all low tides occurring over 19 years. elevation for each on site wetland or surface water, including receiving water Waterbody that receives runoff from a project site. into which runoff will be discharged.  Include dates, datum a fixed surface reference to which relief features and elevation data are referenced. Common vertical datums used in the United States are NGVD (National Geodetic Vertical Datum, 1929) and NAVD (North American Vertical Datum, 1988). and methods used to determine these elevations.

• List the methods used to determine the elevations.
• Include the datum used to define the elevations.
• List the dates the elevations were taken.
• Name the receiving water.

D. Identify the wet season high water tables at the locations representative of the entire project site.  Include dates, datum, and methods used to determine these elevations.

• If your project site has multiple elevation levels, different soil types, or different ecological communities indicate the wet season high water table in each of these different areas in order to accurately represent the project type.
• List the dates that the elevations were tested.
• List the datum used to define the elevations.
• List the methods used to determine the elevations.
