Instructions to get a USGS quadrangle map for your project.
Click on this link to DEP Geographic Information Systems web page or type http://www.dep.state.fl.us/gis/ into your browser address bar.
Click on the link to "Map Direct" under the Map Direct heading. The mapping application opens.
Click the "Layers" tab on the left side of the screen.
Click the folder labeled "Imagery Layers". The folder opens.
Check the box next to "Quads/Digital Raster Graphics". The USGS Quadrangle map appears (topographic map).
Find your property - one way is to use the magnifying glass to zoom in to your property location. Another way is to click the "Zoom" tab on the left side of the screen and enter the property address, if known.
Zoom in or out using the magnifying glass tools until your project area, the elevation contour lines and surrounding area is clearly visible on the map.
Use the drawing tools to draw your property location on the map (there is an eraser tool for mistakes), or print the map and draw the location on with a pen or marker.
To print the map:
Click the "Tools" tab on the left side of the screen.
Click "Print Map" in the options.
Choose an 8.5" x 11" paper size.
Name the map, if you wish.
Click "OK".
A PDF map will be created, click the link to retrieve it. You can save it to your computer (recommended, for your records) or print it directly.
That's it!
