USER NOTES:
The TIGER/LineČ files are extracts, from the Census TIGERČ (Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing) data base, of selected geographic and cartographic information. They include files for all counties and statistically equivalent entities in the United States and Puerto Rico.TIGER Line Roads are Feature Class A, Road The U.S. Census Bureau uses the term divided to refer to a road with opposing traffic lanes separated by any size median, and separated to referto lanes that are represented in the Census TIGERČ data base as two distinct complete chains. The term, rail line in center, indicates that a rail line shares the road rightof- way. The rail line may follow the center of the road or be directly next to the road; representation is dependent upon the available source used during the update. The rail line can represent a railroad, a streetcar line, or other carline. (Source U.S. Census Bureau) For more information on TIGER line files (including TIGER Roads) see the following: www.census.gov/geo/www/tiger/rd_2ktiger/tgrrd2k.pdf Scale is an important factor in data usage. Certain scale datasets are not suitable for some project, analysis, or modelling purposes. Please be sure you are using the best available data. 1:24000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the county level. 1:24000 data should NOT be used for high accuracy base mapping such as property parcel boundaries. 1:100000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the multi-county or regional level. 1:250000 scale datasets are recommended for projects that are at the regional or state level or larger. Vector datasets with no defined scale or accuracy should be considered suspect. Make sure you are familiar with your data before using it for projects or analyses. Every effort has been made to supply the user with data documentation. For additional information, see the References section and the Data Source Contact section of this documentation. For more information regarding scale and accuracy, see our web pages at: http://www.geoplan.ufl.edu/education.html
FGDL QUALITY ASSURANCE STATUS:
-Dropped fields with no data - CENSUS1, CFCC1, FNODE, TNODE, CENSUS2 -For Long CFCC code descriptions shortened definition (A64, A74, A73) -Change P21, P41, P63, P74 - to - A21, A41, A63, A74 -Evaluated all entries in FENAME (Road/Street Name) and renamed in a uniform fashion (eg. "Ave", "Av", and "Avenue" all became "Avenue") -Projected data to FGDL Albers HPGN (See "Map Projection Parameters" below). -Clipped to the State of Florida -Upcased all character records. -Added DESCRIPT item based on CFCC descriptions

DATA LINEAGE SUMMARY:
This data was originally created by the U.S. Census Bureau in TIGER Line Format. The data was then released by ESRI. GeoPlan downloaded this data in shapefile format from ESRI's website: (http://www.esri.com/data/download/census2000_tigerline/index.html) on 9/30/02 2002. When received, the data was in the following projection: Geographic, Datum: NAD 83, Spheroid: GRS80, Units: Decimal Degrees. The shapefile was then clipped to the State of Florida, and projected to FGDL Albers HPGN (See "Map Projection Parameters" below).
