DEP Application Fees

If you are submitting your application to a Water Management District (WMD), contact your local WMD office for their fee schedules.

If you withdraw an application for an Individual or Conceptual Approval permit and re-apply within 1 year, the previous application fee may be carried over to the new application.

This is a listing of the most common application fees, if your project type is not listed see Chapter 62-4, F.A.C. for a complete fee listing.

If your project falls under two or more Environmental Resource Permit (ERP) categories, the fees are not added together - only the highest fee will apply. If your project also requires state-owned (sovereign) submerged lands (SSL) authorization, you must pay the ERP application fee AND the SSL review fee. Send a check for the correct amount with your Environmental Resource Permit Application. Make the check for ERP application fees payable to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Make the check for SSL review fees to the Division of State Lands.

Reduced fees:

Applications for an Individual or Conceptual Approval Permit or modification of an Individual or Conceptual Approval Permit submitted using the Agency's electronic application system qualify for a $100 fee reduction, as long as the reduced fee is not less than the minimum required processing fee of $250.
Entities qualifying under Section 218.075, F.S. (disadvantaged counties and municipalities), where the application fee described below is greater than $100, shall have their fee reduced to $100.
The fee for any application submitted by the U.S. Department of Defense is $0.

Notes about SSL Authorization fees: The above fees are review fees only. Additional fees will be assessed for leases or easements based on the size of the lease or easement. Additional fees will be assessed for any removal of material from state-owned submerged lands (dredging) based on value of material and other considerations. Any additional fees will be assessed during the review process and must be paid before authorization is granted. Fee amounts will be adjusted annually based on the average change in the Consumer Price Index, with a 10% cap on any annual increase. SSL Authorization fees must be paid in addition to any ERP application review fees. Explanation of SSL fees can be found in Rule 18-21, F.A.C.
