Introduction

The goal of this installation guide is to lead you through the process of installing, registering, and authorizing the ArcView 9.1 (Single Use) Demo Edition software.  ArcView provides comprehensive mapping and analysis tools, along with simple editing and geoprocessing tools.

You must register and authorize the ArcView Demo Edition software before you can run it on your computer. The easiest way to obtain your authorization file is through the automatic online registration method available during the ArcView installation. This method requires your computer to be connected to the Internet. The ArcView registration wizard guides you through this process. See Registering ArcView Single Use for more information.

What's in the box?

The ArcView media kit contains the following CDs:

ArcView 9.1 for Windows

Contains the ArcView applications as well as tutorials. This CD also contains all of the optional extension software products for ArcView 9.1. Begin with this CD 1 to install ArcView.

ArcGIS Tutorial Data

Contains the ArcGIS Desktop Tutorial Data

 

The installation of ArcView is a three step process:

    1. Install ArcView.

    2. Install Tutorial data (optional).

    3. Register ArcView and extensions.

After ArcView is installed, you will have the option to install the tutorial data. If you choose to install it, you will be prompted to change CDs and the tutorial data setup will begin.
