Registering ArcView Single Use

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTERING YOUR SOFTWARE

You need to register this ArcGIS® software before it can be used.  The number required for registration was provided to you either in an e-mail from ESRI Customer Service (service@esri.com) or via hard copy in a separate package that was shipped with your software. For ArcView Demo Edition, the registration number will begin with EVA.

Please use this registration number when prompted during the installation of the software. If you cannot locate your registration number, contact your customer service representative.

ArcView and its extensions must be registered before use. The registration process involves authorizing ArcView (Single Use) and extensions for use on your computer. A registration wizard is available to assist you in completing and submitting your registration information to ESRI. During the installation, you will be asked if you want to register now or later.

Registering later

To register later, you can access the Registration Wizard from the Start>Programs>ArcGIS>Desktop Administrator shortcut. Select the  'Register Single Use and Extensions' folder and click on the Register Now button.  See The ArcGIS Desktop Administrator for more information on other features of this utility.

If you are registering ArcView for the first time, choose the first registration option, 'I have installed ArcView and need to register the software'.

If you have previously registered ArcView and need to register additional ArcGIS extensions or wish to evaluate ArcGIS extensions, choose the second registration option, 'I have already registered the software and need to register additional ArcGIS extensions'.

If you have already registered and received an authorization file from ESRI, choose the third option 'I have received an authorization file from ESRI and am now ready to finish the registration process'.

The registration process can be completed by choosing one of the several methods available to obtain an authorization file.

Choose a registration method and follow the instructions on the screen.
